My expectations weren't high - having not seen the first one and knowing sequels are usually not as good as their predecessor.
But this was funny, engaging and unexpected in a good way. Loved it! It was as good as the first movie and believe it or not they outdo the final performance that they gave in the first Pitch Perfect which I thought would be near impossible.
Becka wasn't as prickly as she was in the first movie which is a relief though she does remain a little self centered.
The rest of the cast does a great job. It is quite unPC Great sequel and a lot of laugh out loud moments that both sexes will enjoy.
The riff-off is awesome and Das Sound Machine are annoyingly brilliant. Can't wait to watch it again! I loved this movie, it was the perfect way to end the week with plenty of laughs.

The characters didn't seem the same and making Anna to be "sexually" confused just didn't fit for me. Personally, I think that should have been Chloe.

I don't know what people are thinking who would rate it 3 stars or less, given it being a sequel about a college a cappella group, and given that Hollywood pumps out hundreds of crappy-to-mediocre films a year, focusing on quantity more than quality.

Whilst not being in the same class as the original, this sequel still has enough going for it to make it worth a watch.
There's even less of a plot this time around - a calamitous performance early in the film in front of the President and First Lady no less leads to big problems for the Bellas.

All the old faces are back with the odd new one thrown into the mix - Hailee Steinfeld for example adds a fresh face and there's a new enemy to compete against in the form of Das Sound Machine yep they're German.
For me, the whole endeavour doesn't feel as fresh and funny as the first flick. It still flows along in amiable fashion though with enough good tunes and amusing gags to keep you smiling.
Fat Amy Rebel Wilson and the commentators John Michael Higgins and Elizabeth Banks are still stealing all the best lines with other memorable moments supplied by some celebrity cameos yep that really is the Green Bay Packers.

I mean, the whole story essentially stems from the whole world, including the President of the United States seeing Fat Amy's private area during a live performance I mean, come on!!?
Still a great watch and I would recommend. Written well and the actors were fantastic. Hailee Steinfeld featured as well which was a surprise!
It's a sequel so no one would expect this to be as good as the first film. It has its moments and is very funny in places. The characters lose some of their essence in this new story - no that they were the best drawn characters in the history of film initially, but they could be different people in this one.
It's perfect, "pop the corn and put your brain on the sideboard" type entertainment and the tunes are good and well performed, as usual.
